As part of the application to your host university, they will ask you to enclose different types of documentation. Below you can see a few examples of what these might be. Remember to always send your documents as pdf-files, and please keep in mind that it is completely individual from university to university in regards to which documents they will ask for you to enclose.
An official nomination letter
This is enclosed in the 'Selection Letter' you received from DTU.
Diploma
A diploma includes the name of your previous study programme and the degree you have obtained. In it - all of your completed courses and results will be listed. Please note that a copy of your diploma is only valid, if you have had it verified (stamped and signed) from DTU or from the university where you obtained your degree.
The International Student Services can help you verify your diploma. Please be aware that your diploma must be in English.
Transcript of Records
You can find your transcript of records on DTU Inside. The transcript must be in English and include all the courses you have completed at DTU and their results. To consider it valid, you must have it signed and stamped by DTU. This can be done by contacting
International Student Services.
You may be asked to enclose a Danish grading scale explanation -
this can be downloaded here.
Proof of English language proficiency
On each of the exchange agreements individual information pages on Beyond Borders, you will be able to see, whether or not you will need to enclose for example an official language test (TOEFL, IELTS...),
a language statement from DTU or if an OLS-result (Erasmus students) will be sufficient.

Recommendation letter
Some universities may ask you to enclose a letter of recommendation together with your application. If your teacher/ head of studies is too busy to write the letter, please write them a draft, so that they may only have to make small adjustments as they read through it and sign it. Always remember to be modest and accurate as you write the letter and please be aware that the letter is only valid once it is signed by your teacher/ head of studies. You may be able to find some inspiration here.
Documentation of funds
Some universities may ask you to documents that you have sufficient funds to cover the expenses in relation to your studies abroad - this will often need to include a specific amount in the local currency. You can document this through an official and verified bank letter (including stamp and signature) - see an example of this here. In some cases a statement from SU/ SU lån ('Govenmental grant') may be accepted.
Health Statement
In some cases, you may be asked to enclose a health statement. This is an official letter from your doctor confirming your current state of health. This can also be a verification of specific vaccinations that are required in order for you to obtain a student visa and stay in the country for a longer period of time.
Copy of Passport
Most universities will ask you to upload a copy of your passport - or for example enter your passport number, so remember to always keep your passport with you and keep in mind that your passport must be valid during your entire stay abroad and in some cases it is required to be valid for a period of minimum 6 months are you have returned home.
Motivational letter
A motivational letter is typically around a page long and includes a personal introduction along with motivations for why you would like to study abroad, your choice of destination and university. If you would like some inspiration,

Confirmation of Enrollment / Certificate of Enrollment / Study Confirmation
A confirmation of enrollment confirms your enrollment as a current student at DTU. You can retrieve this document by stopping by our
International Study Guidance Office.
Proof of insurance (Insurance contract/ statement)
Some universities may require you to obtain a specific insurance or document that you have sufficient insurance according to their requirements.

Learning agreement
If you are going on exchange within Europe, in some cases you may be asked to enclose a learning agreement together with your official application to your host university. Regardless, you will always need to fill out a learning agreement in order to apply for the Erasmus Grant, so you can read much more about this here.
