As an Erasmus+ student, you
must take a mandatory online language assessment before your stay abroad. You
must take the test in the language of tuition during your exchange (the primary
language if more than one).
If the teaching language at the host university is your mother tongue, you will
be exempt from taking the test. Please contact erasmus@dtu.dk
The Test
Your result will be evaluated
according to the European Common Framework, A1 (beginner) to C2 (Advanced).
Expect to spend 35-40 minutes on the test. The test result has no consequences
for your stay abroad or for your right to the grant. You can take the test as
many times (and in as many languages) as you wish.
How to access the test:
1. Create an EU-login
2. Access the OLS-test via this link
Choose “Language and Culture”,
choose your language(s), under “type” choose “Assessment”.
(If your chosen language does not show in the drop down menu, try to google “EU academy English placement test”. This should provide a direct link).
3. Download a pdf with your result and upload it to your Erasmus+ application.
Free online
language course
The EU-login will give you
access to the OLS-test and language courses as well as many other short online
courses offered by the EU Academy. The OLS-platform is continuously being
updated with new modules and languages. This can be a good way to prepare for
your stay abroad, brushing up your skills or learning the basics of the local
language of your host country. OLS language courses are free, and it is up to
you if and how much you wish to use them.
